Spring Creek at Miller County

Welcome to the Southwest Georgia Region

Southwest Georgia contains trains, planes, boats and plains. The area contains a diverse geography of location sites, from historical to urban. It is close to several prime Florida beaches. Transportation is not a problem with several major highways and airports located within driving distance.

Southwest Georgia has a humid, subtropical climate. The typical weather consists of mild winters with hot, moist summers. This encourages the strong agricultural presence within the area.

The Film Commission of Southwest Georgia represents several diverse communities.
  • The picturesque Spring Creek area in Miller and Decatur counties.
     
  • The breathtaking “Little Grand Canyon,” Providence Canyon in Randolph County.
     
  • The rolling hills and valleys of Stewart and Quitman counties.
     
  • College campuses in Bainbridge, Albany, Americus, Tifton, Thomasville, Valdosta and Cuthbert.
     
  • The Flint River, Chattahoochee River and Lake Seminole as well as Woodruff Dam, and the Parks at Chehaw Animal Refuge and Wild Adventures theme park.
     
  • Numerous agricultural areas including many fields of peanuts, cotton, tobacco, and pecan orchards.
     
  • Working plantations with period architecture.
     
  • Historic Westville, a town of period structures and costumes.
     
  • Majestic century-old live oak trees canopy the winding roads throughout the area.
     
  • Victorian houses and historically preserved community and government buildings, springs and rivers make up the landscape.
     
  • Beautiful white, sandy Florida beaches.
